Getting Started with your Dharmata Email Account
Each Dharmata Sangha has been assigned a Dharmata email address for official communication with your Sangha, events listing, and publicity uses. These are usually very easy to setup and use, based on the instructions below. Dharmata Email Made Simple…
- Your email address was assigned to you upon establishing a local Sangha in your hometown. You should’ve received an official email from us informing you of your address (example: bozeman@dharmata.org).
- Dharmata Email Accounts, by default are simply forwarding addresses. This means that any email coming into your @dharmata.org email address will simply forward to whatever email address you’ve specified to us upon setting up your group.
- Okay, so receiving email at my Dharmata email address is easy, but How Do I Send email from my @dharmata.org account?
Most major email providers these days (Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc), have very easy steps for setting up a new “Send From” email alias within your existing email account. Once you’ve added your new email address to your existing account, you will be able to select it when sending new emails. An example from Gmail is below. - What if my email service is not in the list above? If you email provider is not listed above, chances are that it will still be easy to setup by looking in your email “settings” for an option that allows you to create new Send Email From aliases. However, there are some smaller providers that don’t offer this feature. If your email does not support multiple Send From addresses, we can simply set you up with a Dharmata web email account, with an easy log in and password for times when you would like to send emails (Note that you can still continue to receive Dharmata emails at your personal email box if easier for you). Please send us an email, or use the contact form at the right of this page to request a fully-featured email box. We will send you a username and password and you can log in at http://email.dharmata.org.
- What if our Sangha has multiple coordinators who need to access our @dharmata.org email account? Just send us their names and email addresses using the form at the right of this page! Multiple people can receive and send email as described in the instructions above.
- What if I prefer to use an email program on my computer (Outlook, Apple Mail, etc) rather than webmail? No problem! Just send us a request using the form at the right of this page and we’ll set it up for you. Once done, use the details below for configuring your email client:
- Our incoming/POP server is pop.secureserver.net.
- Our outgoing/SMTP server is smtpout.secureserver.net.
